YOJIMBO (1961). If you know Fistful of Dollars, be prepared not to be surprised by this film. Sergio Leone shamelessly ripped off everything from Kurosawa, which is ironic because Kurosawa was influenced by the American western in the first place. A samurai comes to town and two rival gangs both try to hire him; he plays the end against the middle.
