48 HOURS (1982). Along with Trading Places and Beverly Hills Cop, this is one of only three Eddie Murphy films that give him any credibility at all. With Nick Nolte‘s cop as his straight man, Murphy does his stuff as the sassy smart talking black dude who is too cool to breathe and still manages to sort out the bad guys.
