THERE WILL BE BLOOD (2007). It’s rare that a new film seems like a masterpiece straightaway (Pan’s Labyrinth and Talk To Her are other obvious candidates), but Paul Thomas Anderson’s epic of greed, oil and religion, with a performance of staggering brilliance by Daniel Day Lewis (and a terrific soundtrack by Jonny Greenwood) just gets better and better each time you see it – on a big screen, please.
