SCHINDLER’S LIST (1993). Every now and then Spielberg gets close to making a great film, but is unable to pull it off. Thomas Kenneally’s novel offered him an opportunity, and many people have been fooled into thinking that because of the subject matter, it must be a masterpiece. Whereas it is a film which is mostly very good, with some terrific scenes and outstanding acting. You should watch it, but be aware that there many better films about the Holocaust.
