THE RED SHOES (1948). A glorious film, in which dance is the central theme, but which is essentially making it clear that it is passion which is the vital ingredient in a fulfilled life – though also the very thing which may lead to your undoing. One of Powell and Pressburger’s finest films, with Moira Shearer glowing in the leading role.
