Angela, a young local TV journalis,t is filming a segment for a programme called "While You Sleep." She and her cameraman Pablo are at a fire station in Barcelona meeting the firemen and waiting for something to happen. Then the crew are called to a house where there is some kind of emergency, and what started out as a dull night shift turns into something really unexpectedly nasty.
Short sharp and vicious, this Spanish film delivers more efective shocks than a lot of its American counterparts. The trick of having a single camera filming everything has been used before and since, but it works very well here, as we race around the building, where bloodstained zombies haunt the stairwells. The initial sense of realism is replaced by more gruesome shocks, but if you have the stomach for it (I'm not sure I do), then go for it.
