RAIN MAN (1988). Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise star as an improbable pair of brothers (25 year age gap) who go on a voyage of discovery; Cruise is a ruthless (but unsuccessful) salesman, Hoffman is an autistic savant. I’m torn between admiration and irritation with this film. There’s good stuff and annoying stuff. I guess you just have to drink the whole thing.
