OH! WHAT A LOVELY WAR (1969). Forty years ago this was cutting edge satire, a film of the Joan Littlewood stage version, with the follies of WW1 being mocked in song as the foolish generals led our brave boys to destruction. A little dated now, but still telling. There is a stunning roll call of British acting talent on display.
