NIM’S ISLAND (2008). Unsuccessful kids/family film about a girl who lives on an island, and writes to her favourite author to help her when her father disappears, expecting said author to be some kind of action hero. But it’s Jodie Foster as a city girl who can barely stand up in sand. Hilarious! Or not.
