NAUSICAA (1984). An early Hayao Miyazaki film set in a post-apocalyptic world where Princess Nausicaa is trying to deal with the dreadful effects of ecological collapse. Miyazaki, probably one of the ten best film makers in the world today, has an incomparable ability to animate with beauty, tell fantastic (literally) stories and include powerful themes that are even more relevant than when this film was made.
