MAN ON THE MOON (1999). Andy Kaufman was a seriously odd guy. Although he appeared as a stand up comedian, on sitcoms and in Saturday Night Live, his routine mostly consisted of testing his audience’s (and his employer’s) patience. Annoying a crowd was as much fun for him as amusing them. He died at the age of 35. In this Milos Forman film, Jim Carrey does an uncannily brilliant Kaufman performance, revealing quite how difficult a person he was, and his commitment to baffle and irritate everyone. The film got no audience at the time, but is really worth revisiting.
