THE MAN WITHOUT A PAST (2002). Ari Kaurismaki is Finland’s most famous film director, and makes films that are dry and quirky and very appealing. This is about a guy who arrives in town, gets beaten up, and loses his memory, so he has to start from scratch, depending on the kindness of strangers. It’s very appealing.
