MAMMA MIA (2008). I hate Abba. I hate musicals. I love Meryl Streep. The third factor is not enough to outweigh the other two. I accept (unwillingly) that for millions of people, this is their idea of a good time, but then so is watching X Factor, Eastenders and eating fish and chips. Doesn’t mean they’re healthy or productive. This is a spectacularly awful film, designed for people who travel in busloads from Peterborough and Coventry to see Les Miserables or Cats. Call me a snob? Absolutely.
