LAKEVIEW TERRACE (2008). An unlikely film from Neil LaBute about a couple (he’s white, she’s black) who move in next door to a black police officer (Samuel L Jackson). He seems to feel uncomfortable about the couple, and his behaviour becomes increasingly provocative. As well as the racial theme, there is also an element of Straw Dogs in here – will the white guy stand up and be a man?
