LACOMBE LUCIEN (1974). One of the first French films to deal with the issue of collaboration with the Germans in WW2. Lacombe is a young man who offers himself to the Resistance, and they (wisely) refuse him. So he joins the other side. Louis Malle was one of the great directors of the post-war period and this is an excellent film.
