KEY LARGO (1948). John Huston’s film is based on a stage play, about a man (Humphrey Bogart) who travels to Florida to honour the memory of his dead comrade, killed in the war. Holed up in a hotel with a gang led by Edward G Robinson, Bogie has to decide whether to overcome his aversion to violence in the face of Rocco’s brutality.
