KING ARTHUR (2004). The myth of Arthur has proved enduringly popular with film makers, mainly because no historical evidence exists, so you can do whatever you like. Nonetheless, there is no excuse for this horrendous film, in which Clive Owen (Aaargh!) plays Arthur as a post-Roman warrior fighting the invading Saxons, with Keira Knightley as Guinevere (a Pictish archer) and Merlin as a Woad (a native of the country). It’s not so much the history which is wonky, as that the film is so badly made.
