JAMON, JAMON (1992). Nearly 20 years ago, in 1992, Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz were unknown Spanish actors just setting out on their soon-to-be-stellar careers. Cruz plays a young woman who wants to marry her boyfriend. Bardem is the hunky stud hired by a jealous mother to seduce her away from the man she loves.
This is not a serious film, and you probably have to be Spanish to understand all the allusions, such as why the film is called Ham, Ham. But there is a lot of sex, and food, and silliness, and even if it doesn't make a great deal of sense, it's still a lot of fun.
