JULIE AND JULIA (2009). A strange film, based on a blog written by Julie Powell, who set herself the unlikely task of cooking all 524 recipes in Julia Child’s cookbook (Childs is the doyenne of American cooking). In the film, we switch back and forth between the present (Julie cooking Julia’s food), and the past – Julia living in Paris in the 50s discovering the joys of French cooking.
