JARHEAD (2005). Not so much a war film, but a men-at-war film, and one of the best I’ve seen. It’s also the best Sam Mendes film. The film captures not only the intense boredom of waiting for something to happen, but also the camraderie and frustrations of being part of a small group of other me. Jake Gyllenhaal, Jamie Foxx and Peter Sarsgaard are all very good.
