JAPANESE STORY (2003). An odd but really good film which is centred around two characters; Toni Collette is a businesswoman acting as a reluctant guide to a Japanese guy who she’s hoping will buy her product. They drive deep into the desert, get into difficulties and gradually learn to like each other. It’s not essentially a romance, but something more complicated. Toni Collette is one of the best actresses in the world; she finally gets a part here that shows that.
