Everyone I know wants to like Terry Gilliam's films, including me. Sometimes I even do, but not as often as I'd like. This, his latest, is an example of his genius and his flaws. Set in modern day London, the film is focused on a ramshackle travelling sideshow, which takes members of the audience through the back of the scenery into an imaginary world of their dreams and wishes. There are assorted characters, including Christopher Plummer as the boss, with Heath Ledger as his artful assistant, and Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp as substitutes for Heath, who died during filming.
Looks good, makes no sense.
