I’M NOT THERE (2007). You can say what you like about Todd Haynes’ ambitious non-biopic of Bob Dylan, involving half a dozen different actors, but it certainly divides audiences. I admired it in parts, enjoyed it in others, and was rarely bored. Heath Ledger, Richard Gere, Christian Bale and Ben Whishaw are some of the actors, but the real star is Cate Blanchett as Dylan circa 1965/6, all drawl and attitude, hanging out with Ginsberg.
