THE ICE STORM (1997). One of Ang Lee’s best, though not as much seen as it should have been. Set in the 70s, the film witnesses two families; the husband in one (Kevin Kline) is having an affair with the wife in another (Sigourney Weaver). They live in a world where wife-swapping is a party option, and the adults are in effect, children. Meanwhile the children are trying to behave like adults. Superbly sad.
