HANNAH AND HER SISTERS. (1986). As we look back over 40 years of Woody Allen’s film making career, the highlights stand out even more when contrasted with some of the dross he’s inflicted on us in recent years. Hannah is one of his best films, a complex family tale about three sisters (Chekhov, anyone?) and the men in their lives. The thing to remember about WA is that he is at his best as a writer, and that he has always had the happy knack of attracting the best actors to his films.
