LA HAINE (1995). Tough film about life in the suburbs of Paris, with three friends trying to make something of the unpromising material of their lives. It made a big impact when it was released, but it seems a little more run of the mill 15 years later. Influences of Boyz ‘n’ The Hood and Taxi Driver are obvious.
