FIELD OF DREAMS (1989). I enjoyed this film, though I am perfectly aware that it’s sentimental and manipulative. Kevin Costner builds a baseball pitch in the middle of his cornfields because a voice tells him to, then goes in search of a reclusive author. Romantic whimsy of a very high order.
