FARGO (1996). I may have reservations about some Coen Bros films, but this is a perfect piece of work. Frances McDormand is wonderful as the heavily pregnant police chief trying to uncover murky goings on, all prompted by the clumsy efforts of William H Macy to get himself out from under a mountain of debt. Funny, sweet, violent, shocking and definitely not based on a true story.
