FELLINI SATYRICON (1969)/FELLINI’S ROMA (1972). I am baffled by the critical acclaim bestowed on the films of Federico Fellini, and this pair of films are classic examples of his work being so much less than you might have expected. They are desultory, half hearted, and the output of a man who is convinced that his every murmur is the word of the divine.
