ELECTION (1999). The film that introduced Reese Witherpsoon to an unsuspecting world. She is terrific in this nifty little film about school politics and the power of ambition over talent. Matthew Broderick is also very good as the teacher who sets himself the impossible task of stopping her irresistible rise.
