EASTERN PROMISES (2007). David Cronenburg clearly thinks that Viggo Mortensen is his favourite actor. Having cast him in History Of Violence, Viggo gets the gig again in this film about the Russiam mafia in London, in which he plays a heavy with intelligence and a conscience. Naomi Watts (an improbable English nurse) gets involved in some nasty business. On balance, this is a pretty good film.
