THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW (2004). While I appreciate Roland Emmerich’s commitment to letting the world know the dangers it faces from climate change, a) it doesn’t seem to be having much imapct and b) this may be because the message is lost in a tidal wave of special effects, computer generated storms and an action movie genre that tends to olbliterate the subtle nuances of the issue. The point her is that we’re all going to drown, but Jake Gyllenhaal is trying to help.
