DANNY THE CHAMPION OF THE WORLD (1989). One of my favourite kids/family films based on Roald Dahl’s wonderful book about a father and son, played by Jeremy Irons and his real son, Sam. They run a small garage and poach pheasants at night, until the local landlord (Robbie Coltrane) starts to get medieval on their ass. The film is exciting, original, touching and funny, and can happily be watched by anyone of any age with a beating heart.
