DAN IN REAL LIFE (2007). While I think that it’s admirable that Steve Carell has tried to broaden his range, I’m not sure that he is sufficiently un-nerdy to pull off a romantic family comedy with Juliette Binoche as the fiancee of his brother who he falls in love with. The plot stretches credibility every which way, and it all feels forced and mechanical.
