CHASING AMY (1997). No one would claim that Kevin Smith is a sophisticated film director, and that since the success of his first film, Clerks, things have mostly gone downhill, but I have a soft spot for this film, with Ben Affleck as one half of a comic book team who falls for a woman who prefers women. It shouldn’t work, but I found it very funny, and also moving.
