CASINO (1995). Somewhat overlooked among Scorsese’s better known films, this may have suffered from being seen as a retooled version of Goodfellas set in Las Vegas; de Niro stars as Ace Rothstein, casino manager and smart operator, who is employed by the mob to run the casino but has problem with old friend Joe Pesci and wife Sharon Stone. All based on real life, and beautifully filmed. For once, the 3 hours running time is justified.
