CABLE GUY (1996). Jim Carrey’s first flop was a bold film and while not exactly entertaining, it is at least original. Matthew Broderick is a mild mannered guy whose life is destroyed by the pathological nutcase played by Carrey, the cable guy of the title. It’s like Fatal Attraction for guys played as comedy. The supporting cast is excellent, and the humour is downright disturbing.
