BADLANDS (1973). An authentic 70s classic that has influenced many subsequent films. Terrence Malick made this in 1973, another film a few years later, then rested for a few decades, till Thin Red Line (another one is due next year). Not a man in a hurry. A young Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek star in a strange but mesmerising story (based on fact) about a young couple – she’s 15 – who decide that killing people is fun.
