BACKBEAT (1994). As a lifelong starting-in-1963 Beatles fan, I’m up for any movie that deals with the boys and this is a very decent version of their early pre-fame days, mainly set in Hamburg and revolving around Lennon’s friendship with Stuart Sutcliffe (at that time, the 5th Beatle). Ian Hart may not look much Lennon, but he channels his sarky and irresistible spirit like nobody’s business.
