BABE (1995). It’s hard to think of many more perfect family films than this adaptation of Dick King-Smith’s story about a pig who wants to be a sheepdog. I love every minute of it, from the warbling mice, and the slightly ominous voiceover, all the way through to the closing line that never fails to stir me: “That’ll do, pig.” There has never been higher praise. (But avoid the sequel which is truly awful).
