ABOUT A BOY (2002). Nick Hornby’s books have been filmed with varying success; High Fidelity good, Fever Pitch poor. This one is somewhere in between. Hugh Grant is the idle wastrel who lives off unearned income with no purpose in life. When a boy appears on his doorstep, he has to deal with the outside world at a more adult level. Lightweight but enjoyable.
