Sweet, funny, romantic, intelligent - what more can you ask from a film set in a tacky theme park in Pittsburgh in 1987? James (Jesse Eisenberg) is a slightly nerdy guy with brains reduced to a menial summer job to save money to go to college. Em (Kristen Stewart) is the beautiful girl he's attracted to, and who seems, surprisingly, to like him back. Mind you, here are complications, which is part of what makes the film so appealing. Both Stewart and Eisenberg make their characters interesting and believable; she, in particular is excellent. Trust me on this one, it's a lot better than a plot description would make it sound.
